MARKETING Manchester chairman Sir David Trippier has passed on his "wholehearted congratulations" to Bolton's environmental team.
It follows the recent presentation of a Queen Mother's Birthday Award in recognition of environmental improvements.
Sir David, who is chairman-elect of the Tidy Britain Group, praised Bolton's innovative approach to environmental protection and improvement.
"I was particularly impressed by the way the town hall team consulted widely with community groups throughout the district," he said.
"Bolton MBC is leading the way in many aspects of environmental protection and improvement.
"As our region continues to attract the tourists and visitors so vital to our economy, so the need to ensure we have tidy, attractive towns assumes great importance."
He added: "Bolton is doing a wonderful job."
