SIR: What is it about the Orange Badge Scheme which gets the ladies into such confusion, as displayed by Mrs K Adshead of Farnworth in Viewpoint?
After three, very careful, readings of the leaflet, THE ORANGE BADGE SCHEME, I am unable to find any mention of displaying the badge standing up on the dashboard, so that the picture can be seen.
Considering that, in order to check the right person was using the badge, the warden would need that person standing there, for comparison. Displaying the photo in their absence would not help. The warden can insist on examining the badge when the user is present.
Showing the photo would give an opportunity for one of a pair of thieves to observe, from a distance, the badge holder and warn the other thief of their return.
