CHILDREN from a Horwich nursery school have been saying it with flowers.
The tiny tots from Moorlands Nursery School at Chorley New Road took bouquets and cards to their neighbours in Iron Street yesterday.
The flowers were the nursery's way of apologising for all the inconvenience caused by building work which has been taking place on the site since Christmas.
Denise Hunt, who runs the nursery, said that the residents have had to cope with a lot of extra traffic and noise while contractors have been demolishing an old chapel and building a new extension on the site. "It was bad enough for us so it must have been a nightmare for them. They've had a lot to put up with and some of them have had trouble parking their cars," said Denise.
Now that all the external work is complete, Denise decided to order 13 bunches of flowers from local florist's Bromilow's to give to residents in the 13 properties on Iron Street to say sorry and to thank them for their patience over the months.
The children have been busy making cards in nursery which they handed over with the flowers. Denise started Moorlands six and a half years ago and now has a staff of 17 and is registered for up to 70 children, from babies to children of school age.
The extension, which is on two levels, provides a kindergarten, new kitchen, office, staff room, store rooms and a huge dance room for the older children.
There is still a lot of decorating and furnishing to be done and Denise is planning an official opening in the spring.
