COLIN Todd is planning to go continental again in search of some of Europe's best bargains.

The Burnden boss has stressed he is in no rush to sign new players but that hasn't stopped him clocking up the air miles.

He has visited Holland and Denmark in recent weeks and plans more trips abroad in an effort to find more talent of the calibre of Danish duo Per Frandsen and Michael Johansen.

Despite a substantial transfer kitty at his disposal, Todd is one of a growing number of managers who believes shopping in Europe can offer better value for money compared with prices on the home market.

Wanderers might have a healthy bank balance but the manager isn't prepared to throw his money around. "In a sense I was fortunate with the two Danes," he modestly admits as he reflects on his smash and grab raid on Copenhagen. "I went over to Denmark looking at no-one in particular and came back with two tremendous players.

"I fully intend to take in more European games when I get the opportunity but it's a case of finding the time."

The 64,000 dollar question is who will be next to arrive at Burnden.

Todd is giving no clues but, in common with a few other English managers, he has watched Lyngby striker Miklos Molnar, one of the top scorers in Denmark who is understood to have a special release clause in his contract.
