COUNCILLORS in Horwich are losing patience with Bolton Wanderers over promises to set up a liaison committee to keep local people informed about the new sports village development.
Cllr Jeremy Lavin said that the club has been saying since the public inquiry last August that a committee would be established to listen to residents' views and any problems.
Cllr Lavin said: "Every time we meet them they say it is going to be set up within the next two weeks, and that has been said several times over the last few months.
"Nothing has happened and it is now getting a little bit out of hand."
One of the groups promised representation on the committee was Sefton Fold Residents Committee who are worried about pedestrian access to the stadium on match days.
Cllr Lavin said they had written to the club, Bolton planning department and the developer. The only reply was from the club, who said their views would be made known at the liaison committee.
He added: "I think it is a bad tactic not to get this committee set up so that problems like this can be diffused. People are going to get very frustrated and angry."
Cllr Michael Kilcoyne proposed that the council write to the developers, planning committee and Wanderers, reminding them of the agreement and expecting it to be acted upon.
