A BRIDE-to-be is searching for "something borrowed" for her big day . . . a white wedding dress.
Marion Taylor, 42, of Campbell Street, Farnworth, says her countless trips to charity shops to try and find a wedding dress have proved fruitless - because of her 22/24 size frame.
And now, she says, her plans to marry Mike Henderson, 24, her boyfriend for the past seven years, may have to be put on hold.
Money is tight because both rely on benefit payments and Marion, a divorcee, is mum to seven children aged between four and 24. Through thrifty shopping at second hand shops, Marion has managed to get her hands on a £5 suit for her hubby-to-be and three bridesmaids' dresses for her daughters.
She's made her own head-dress and her mum has agreed to prepare the buffet for the reception.
On top of that, the pastor at Farnworth Evangelical Baptist Church has agreed to waive his usual fee for a marriage service, and a room for the reception has been donated free of charge. Marion said: "When I married the first time it was in a register office. But now I'm a born-again-Christian I want to get married properly in a church.
"I would truly love to wear a wedding dress but I cannot afford to buy one or hire one.
"However, if anyone could loan me a dress for my wedding day I would be more than grateful - even for just a couple of hours to get me through the service.
"I would pay for any dry cleaning costs or pay a small deposit."
