A WOMAN was injured as she fought with a teenage intruder in the living room of her Leigh home.
Mrs Ann Marsh, aged 53, suffered an injury to her hand in a brief violent struggle with the burglar.
The thief eventually fled with the housewife's bag which contained £92 in cash.
The incident happened on Friday night when the thief sneaked in to the house in Woodgarth through a rear door. He was confronted by Mrs Marsh in the living room.
The thief is described as white, slim and aged about 14. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and maroon baseball cap.
In a separate incident in Atherton on Saturday a conman posing as a care worker stole more than £200 in cash from the home of an 88-year-old woman. The thief was smartly dressed and was wearing a beige sweater.
