AT half-past twelve yesterday, a fire broke out in Great Queen-street, Drury-lane, on the premises of Wolff and Son's steam pencil works. The fire commenced in the basement of the building, and to the number of girls and young women who were employed on the upper floors egress was impossible. Their appearance at the windows cause great excitement among the crowd which immediately assembled. Fortunately, some painters were at work at the Freemasons' Tavern, a few doors off, and their ladders were immediately put into requisition, by which means all the persons employed were safely got out. The flames were not got under before the premises were gutted.
