BURY striker David Johnson today admitted: "My finishing needs a lot of work."
The exciting young talent added to his expanding fan club on Saturday when rival Luton boss Lennie Lawrence conceded: "He looks very good and I was pleased to see him come off towards the end."
But 20-year-old Johnson, who has only one goal to show for his impressive efforts this season, knows his finishing touch is the major stumbling block between him realising his huge potential.
"I find it easier to play at this level than in the bottom division," he explained. "The only difference is more clinical finishing.
"My finishing is not the best and I am working every day after training to try to improve it."
Johnson's problems were highlighted when he missed a second half sitter after a powerful run through the Luton defence and he added: "If your finishing is good you it doesn't matter as much what your outfield play is like.
"I'm just hoping the work I put in in training will rub off in matches."
