SIR: I was interested to read about Top Quality Theatre (Viewpoint: September 12) and the artistic standards of Bolton Octagon Youth Theatre in their production of the Winter Hill Trespass 1896.
It does good for the youth of today to understand the hardships and tribulations of bygone days and more so to enact the situations both entertainingly and educationally.
I would like to draw the intention of OYT to a musical drama (ie songs) I wrote entitled The Oath, which tells of the actions of the Luddites in this area in 1812.
A copy of the play and score is held at Bolton Central Library.
