TWO Bolton Boys Fed teams marched on to the next round of the prestigiousI Lancs FA U16s Youth Cup competition.
Leigh RMI won 4-1 at home against a strong Penlake Juniors side from Warrington while Bolton County thrashed AFC Bolton 7-0. Bolton County also had a fine mid week victory winning 4-1 at home to a strong Boundary Park juniors side.
In the Under 18s Section A Daisy Hill had an overwhelming victory away at AFC Breightmet 9-1 while in Section B Farnworth Boys picked up two points when they won 3-1 away at Atherton LR with a goal each for Gary Greenhalgh, Alex Crossman and John Mather.
Under 15s Section A saw Horwich St Marys and Westhoughton Rangers A share the points in a 10 goal thriller while in the U15s Section B Ladybridge Boys were too strong for Westhoughton Rangers B on the day and won convincingly 5-1 with a brace from Mark Flannagan plus goals for Craig Smyth, Dave Scully and Andrew Cardwell with Andrew Buckle replying for Rangers.
In the Under 11s Cubs Section their were victories for both AFC Bolton A and AFC Bolton B with the B side. Winning a close game 3-2 at Home against Elton Fold, Darren Smethurst (2) and Shannon Nargie scoring.
Their A team had an emphatic home win against Farnworth Boys 9-0 and Westhoughton Rangers had a fine away day trip to Astley Bridge were they won 9-1. Thanks to goals from D Wadeson (6) Phillip Moss (2) A Reynard (2) and S Curtis.
In the U14s Section Bolton Lads Club won a high scoring game in what was a cracker of a match by 5-4 over Bromley Cross while in the U13s Colts Section Ladybridge Boys were too strong for Horwich St Marys.
In the Junior section U12s Bolton Lads Club won 8-0 at home to Astley Bridge while AFC Bolton won 9-1 away at Westhoughton Rangers with hat-tricks from Neil Smith, Gareth Cunniff and Chris Cankalls. Freestyle Rovers also picked up two points away at Whithins where they were too strong for the home side winning 7-0 with goals for Kris Hart (3) Phillip Seddon (2) Steven Wakerley and David Ashworth.
