PLAYFUL Daniele Pugliano got more than he bargained for when he locked himself in his bedroom - and had to be rescued by firefighters.
The mischievous two-year-old came face to face with his heroes after becoming trapped in an upstairs room yesterday.
Canadian Daniele, who is on holiday with his family in Bolton and was visiting his grandparents in High Street, Daubhill, was stuck for more than an hour as attempts to coax him from the room failed. Sub Officer Colin Waite from Bolton Central fire station, said: "He was getting so upset we had no choice but to break the door down." His grandma, Mrs Renmet Atcha, said: "He loves firemen, they are his heroes. But I don't think he intended something like this to happen. I think he locked the door as a joke, but it went very wrong."
