BOLTON'S "home grown" talent will be performing in the first of a series of four lunchtime concerts tomorrow at St Andrew and St George United Reformed Church.
Acclaimed soprano Jane Evans and outstanding clarinettist Arun Ghosh will be appearing with the man who is probably the town's best known musician, borough organist Brian Smith, on piano.
Jane won the hearts of local audiences with her lead roles for Opera 74. She has worked with the Royal Northern College of music and is in big demand at venues throughout the North.
Former Bolton School pupil Arun Ghosh started to play clarinet in 1991 and studied at the RNCM. He has continued his clarinet studies at Cambridge.
While he was at Bolton School he composed the scores for several musicals and plays. He still performs as a guest with the Bolton Youth Orchestra, of which he was a member.
Brian Smith appears at each of the concerts, which run from 12.45pm to 1.30pm. The others, all on Thursdays, are on October 3, 10 and 17.
Light refreshments are available before each concert from 12.15pm and admission is £1 per concert, or £3 for the series, payable on the door.
