SIR: With regard to naming the new Bolton Wanderers Stadium, in my view there is only one choice - Nat Lofthouse; not only for his commitment to the Wanderers, but to football in general.
He was a credit to the game he served as a player, and for his dedication to the club in an official capacity.
My memories of Nat are the England versus Austria game in Vienna in the 1950s. And when I met him in his office in June this year with a Bolton fan, who was on a visit from Canada, he made us welcome. He was a gentleman and a sincere person.
