FORMER Great Britain hooker Martin Dermott is set to join Warrington in a bid to revive his flagging career.

The 28 year old pack man - who is Wigan's second longest service player - has decided to leave Central Park after 12 years.

Wigan have released Dermott allowing him to team up with former Wigan coach John Dorahy subject to him passing a medical.

And he believes the bold move will breathe new life into his playing boots - and even re-launch his international career.

Dermott said: "I'm really looking forward to it as I felt I was becoming stale and stagnant at Wigan.,

"I wasn't given the chances last season and need first team football now."

Dermott is also hoping working with Dorahy could build him a platform into a coaching role in the future.

He said: "I get on well with John and I think he had some great ideas at Wigan which the club were just not ready for."

Dermott - who has made 11 Great Britain appearances - added: "I still feel that I'm an international player and have a lot to offer. My first aim is to put myself back in the shop window with a regular first team place and then hopefully get back into the Great Britain squad."

Meanwhile Wigan's transfer-listed forward Matty Knowles could be on his way to Salford Reds.

Mr Robinson added that the Super League newcomers had made an offer for the £25,000 rated prop.
