By NEIL BONNAR BURY skipper David Pugh could be on the verge of a surprise return.
The influential midfielder is back in full training and will be given the final say on the right time to step back into the fray.
Shakers boss Stan Ternent is ready to welcome back his combative captain who has been out since breaking his elbow in the second game of the season.
"He has had the support taken off and is fit," said Ternent. "If he is okay I'm certainly looking to have him involved at Walsall on Saturday.
"But the final decision will be left to David. He is our skipper and an important player to us but we will wait until he says he is ready."
Bury could be struggling for a left sided player with Gordon Armstrong still under treatment for a thigh injury which forced him out of Tuesday night's 4-0 Coca-Cola Cup defeat at Crystal Palace and Nick Reid doubtful with a hamstring injury.
