What is love and why do we look for it?
What is death and why do we fear it?
Why do we fear death more than love,
When they both in time will hurt us?
What would the world be like without death?
What would it be like without love?
What would we have to fear?
What would we have to look for?
When you read this poem, what does it make you think?
Does it scare you? Confuse you? Or does it just
intrigue you?
Why do you look so puzzled when your eyes scan
the words?
Why don't the flowers sing like the birds?
Why are there people upon the earth?
Why are the eyes of baby closed at birth?
Is it to protect them from the sins of the world?
Or is it the Love? Or is it the Death?
If love is so right, why is it so hard
To find the right person with the key to your heart?
What is love when it's at home?
And why have you mentioned it so much in this poem?
I'm afraid I don't have the answers to these questions,
Because, you see,
I DON'T KNOW! Jeremy Shaw, Vale Coppice, Horwich.
