TWO Bolton soldiers just back from a tour of duty in war torn Bosnia will be visiting their home town as part of a recruiting tour organised by their regiment.
Private Alan Lewarne, aged 21, will be among the recruitment team from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment visiting Bolton on Friday.
Alan, a former pupil of Deane School, was part of the Nato peace force in Bosnia with the 1st battalion of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment.
He joined up five years ago after being a member of the Army Cadet Force. He has also served in Canada, Kenya and Berlin.
Also with the Queen's Lancashire Regiment touring team will be Private Martin Lowe, aged 21.
Martin, a former pupil of St Joseph's RC school in Horwich, joined the regiment last year as a rifleman.
He said: "It's been my whole life, it's in my blood, I couldn't have been anything else."
The two Bolton soldiers and their colleagues will be on hand to show off displays and answer questions in Victoria Square from 10am to 4pm.
The Queen's Lancashire Regiment will also visit Bradshawgate, Leigh, on October 10 from 10am to 4pm.
