BOLTON Institute has an added ally in its battle to find jobs for graduates . . . the Internet.
The Institute is once again running its successful Job Search Skills Course for graduates.
The course is one day a week for 10 weeks with a job club in the mornings where graduates have access to newspapers, vacancy bulletins, directories, free postage, fax and photocopying facilities and telephone calls as well as on-hand advice and help with applications. In the afternoon the various skills of job hunting are examined in detail, interview techniques honed and help in finding vacancies which are not advertised is given.
First time graduates will be trained to use E-Mail and the Internet and will be encouraged to key into both facilities.
A number of places are still available on the course but anyone interested in enrolling should do so as soon as possible as Internet E-Mail training is scheduled to start on Monday.
The Institute can be contacted on Bolton 528851.
"Many employers are now using the Internet to publish both company information and vacancies," said Ann James the course leader.
"And it is very important for graduates to be familiar with these tools and to use E-Mail to apply for jobs that are advertised. It is perfectly possible now for graduates to seek, find and apply for jobs without ever leaving the computer screen."
