SIR: So our councillors, in their misguided wisdom, are to close two old people's homes in the area.
Many of these people, through health problems or insecurity, have known no other home for years and should not be uprooted and treated like chattels.
Remember, you councillors, many of these people fought in the wars for the peace and security of their fellow men, you included, although some of you were only knee high.
Get your priorities right. If MPs and industrialists gave a percentage of their fabulous wage weekly, we would not only be able to build more homes, but it would go a good way towards their upkeep.
Mrs J Riley, Cranbook Close,
Halliwell, Bolton.
