WIGAN fans will be able to get a sneak preview of any new signings when the club takes on St Helens in a special Christmas double friendly challenge.
The RFL have authorised the go-ahead of the traditional festive derby games at the request of the clubs in order to help finances in the close season.
None come bigger than the Wigan-St Helens clash and with that in mind the two clubs have decided to go ahead with the two-leg fixture probably at Central Park on Boxing Day and Knowsley Road on New Year's Day.
Wigan have already signed Kiwi Stuart Lester but although moves to bring in other signings have stalled the club are confident they will be completed by the end of the year.
RU converts Gary Connolly and Jason Robinson will be available for the games but not Va'aiga Tuigamala and Henry Paul as their contracts were signed before the games were planned.
