SEEDFIELD Sports maintained the hottest early season Bolton Combination Premier Division pace seen for many a year in a stunning 6-3 away victory at Ainsworth.

The trip down to Bankfield had all the signs of being a tripwire fixture for the Bury side that had scored four straight wins in a first ever season in the Comb.

The home side has been devastating on its day so far this term banging in goals a plenty but lacking consistency. The game certainly lived up to expectations of being an absolute thriller as Seedfield weathered the storm to register a breathtaking 6-3 win and stay top of the table with a maximum return from five played.

Joint leaders British Aerospace, also on 15 points but from two games more played, cracked five past poor Summerseat courtesy of Chris Smiley, Gary Burns, Charnley, Morris and Heyes.

Still unbeaten, AFC Walkers maintained that record in a 2-2 draw at Hindsford. Hindley Green look to be hitting top form with a Manny Flores 65th minute strike earning a single goal victory at Atherton C & N. A Ric Jones Hat-trick, two from Nick Smith and one from veteran Phil Rotherham earned fast-improving Ambassadors a 5-1 victory over Bolton Lads Club.

Kersal Vale continue to head the 1st Division and remain unbeaten after six games but left it late at home to Turton. Simon Charnock got the visitors off to a flying start with a goal after only four minutes and it was the 85th minute before Mick Phillips popped up to bang in the equaliser and maintain that proud record.

The result however will not displease Turton too much as they also remain unbeaten but having only played three league fixtures.

The other new team in this division, Mitchell Shackleton, moved comfortably into second place with an impressive 2-1 win at the Howe Bridge outfit that has looked ready to more than hold its own this season. It took an Andrew Edge strike five minutes from time to seal all three points following Mark Hulme's 75th minute equaliser for the home side of Adam Draisey's opener 10 minutes into the second-half.

Three draws in four games mars Hindley Green Reserves four match run without losing, but it was three points in the bag from the 2-0 win over Monton Ams courtesy of goals from Pollot and Brown.

Atherton S and S kept up the pressure in the second division with six wins in six and a massive nine point lead already at the top of the table, but having played more games than everyone else. The latest win underlined that Atherton's title aspirations are fully justified as Tyldelsey United Resreves were on the end of an 11 goal hiding.
