ABOUT 40 campaigners arrived in Blackpool today at the end of a coast-to-coast long march to call on a future Labour Government to make a commitment to defend the Welfare State.
The march arrived in Bolton on Sunday night and left the town yesterday after staging a protest at the town's Employment Services office in Great Moor Street to draw attention to the campaign against the controversial Job Seekers Allowance which is introduced next week.
Police were called after the campaigners burst into the office with placards and banners but the protest ended peacefully and no arrests were made.
An Employment Service spokesman said: "We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers as a result of the incident."
