SIR: The articles on September 26 and 27 referred to the Wanderers as 'going home' to Horwich.
Since about 1888, when my father played for them as an 'old boy' of the Church Institute School at Pikes Lane, BWFC has always been associated with Burnden Park and would go with them to Horwich.
The name 'Lofthouse', who was undoubtedly one of our best players, or 'Middlebrook' will, in years to come, not stand comparison to years when BWFC won the FA Cup and, this was BWFC, Burnden Park.
The older generation will remember this with some pride and perhaps the present generation will come around to thinking of a name which will continue for ever - Burnden Park! - before it is too late?
