Last Saturday's poem - a teenage girl did write,
From one so young - a sheer delight.
Obviously a girl who will do her best,
To be Bolton's youngest poetess.
Ashcroft, Claire Louise,
Writes poetry - completely at ease.
Expressing her views in the Evening News,
That she doesn't need to be tall, with long blonde hair.
She feels contentment everywhere,
She may not be an example of the modern 'cutie'.
But surely - she has inner beauty,
And poetic ability above her station,
Filling me with admiration.
And her station is not where she might get a bus,
It's the ability to write poems for us. Harry Clarke
