125 YEARS AGOof+bf+iof=helveticaSIR, - Can any of your readers inform me why the Corporation do not take in hand the nuisance so often brought before them between Brownlow-fold and Mere Hall-street, or more commonly called the 'Ginnell'? Just now, after only a very few days' rain, there is scarcely a place you can put a foot down, from one end to the other, without sludging yourself. I need not say that there is a very great amount of traffic through it, and its present condition is a disgrace to the town, or to the Local Board of Halliwell. It has often been brought before the public, but it is evident neither either the Council nor the Board, together or separately, will do anything to remedy this nuisance. It is only 18 inches broad in one place for thousands of people to pass through daily. Yours, &c., Mud Boots.
