BURY boss Stan Ternent admitted his frustration at being forced to await a transfer tribunal valuation on goalkeeper Dean Kiely.

Kiely's price tag is still unknown after the initial tribunal ended with selling club York City walking out and the rescheduled hearing postponed due to further York protests.

The 25-year-old keeper is rated in the £450,000 bracket by the Yorkshire club although the final figure is widely anticipated to be around a quarter of that amount.

But it is the uncertainty - with no new date as yet being set for the hearing - which is holding up Ternent's team building plans as the manager tries to plot a second successive promotion.

"It is frustrating for the chairman and myself not knowing how much we will have to spend on Dean," he admitted.

"I would like to strengthen my squad but I can't do anything until we know how much we are going to have to pay.

"At the moment I am relatively happy with the players I have but I would like to bring in better, younger players."

Meanwhile, Ternent was full of praise for the Shakers' all action show which ended a dismal run of two draws and two defeats with all three points in last night's big Lancashire derby with Burnley.

"We were really up for it," he said. "We got back to base camp after Saturday's defeat at Walsall and, with all our recent injury problems, I felt it was a victory for the squad.

"We are now back on the road again, I hope, and we start preparing for another big match at home to Blackpool on Saturday."
