SIR: I anxiously awaited the recent TV programme The System hoping it would enhance people's knowledge of the ruthless wrongdoings of this barbaric agency namely the CSA.
Unfortunately it centred mainly upon absent fathers who although able to pay towards their children's upbringing refused to co-operate and cheated their way out of their responsibility.
What the programme did not show were thousands of genuine people who are the 'easy targets' a section of whom have been driven to take their own lives.
No wonder the people affected are sickened by the attitude of the CSA when towards the end of the programme we witnessed their staff joking that they were thinking of issuing free condoms with every assessment they became involved in.
The sooner this barbaric industry is abolished and replaced by a fair system the better.
