BALLOONISTS will be giving Bolton schoolchildren a lesson with a difference in a high flying visit next week.
Experts will be dropping in on pupils from Sharples School and Westhoughton High on Oct 10 as part of an educational package by Lloyds Bank.
A hot air balloon will be landing in the playing fields and fifth year pupils will be given a lesson in aerodynamics with a special demonstration by pilot and crew.
The flight is part of Lloyds Bank Educational Service which supports national curriculum studies in more than 2,000 secondary schools.
Peter Smith, area director of Lloyds Bank, said: "Our flying visit will introduce pupils to the basic principles and techniques of flying and in particular, of hot air ballooning. Enjoyment is a key to successful learning - so I hope our balloon will make this year's educational programme an exciting success for pupils."
