BRAVE souls from Bolton have drafted in a little help from The Other Side for a chilling charity stunt. Eight intrepid fund-raisers have plucked up the courage to spend a night in an old mansion, billed the most haunted house in Britain. The ghostbusting team from Breightmet Labour Club will be bedding down with the spooks at Chingle Hall near Preston as a spine shivering finale to months of fund raising.

Hundreds of people claim to have seen the hall's 21 resident ghosts or stepped back in time while staying there.

If they manage to survive the sponsored spook-in tonight, the brave band will bring the total cash raised to £3,000.

Club members originally started the money-making drive to raise £2,500 to sponsor a guide dog for the blind.

The extra £500 will go towards the annual taxi drivers' day trip for deprived children.

Pubs, businesses, shopkeepers and market traders throughout the town have donated goods and services to help the club raise the money.

Cheques will be presented to both charities at a special gala night at Breightmet Labour Club tomorrow.
