A NEW £400,000 project to improve water in Bradshaw Brook has been completed a month ahead of schedule.
The project has been carried out by North West Water in partnership with Bechtel Water Technology.
The main part of the scheme was the construction of a 400 cubic metre storage tank on a site at Thicketford Road.
This means that one combined sewage overflow can be closed, and there will be less overflow from others during heavy storms.
In addition to the improvement for water customers at Bradshaw Brook, others in the community have been riding high thanks to the project.
The legacy of the work carried out means members of the Bolton and District Riding Club get a sought-after car park.
It comes as a result of members asking for a hardstanding created for the contractors' compound to be left intact.
Mrs Wyn Goodwin, from the club, said: "We are delighted that North West Water has made it possible for us to retain the hardstanding."
Chris Brown, project manager for North West Water, said: "I am very pleased that the project has been completed ahead of schedule."
