AN anti-drugs project in Bolton has today received a government cash injection to help deal with local problems.
Bolton Drug Action Team bid in partnership with the private sector for a share of a £1.8 million Drugs Challenge Fund unveiled by Prime Minister John Major.
And today Bolton DAT heard they will receive £60,000 for a CD Rom drug education system for schools in partnership with Bolton firm Multi-Media Machine.
The Stockport DAT team will work with Bolton so that similar systems can benefit youngsters in both towns.
Bolton DAT spokesman Steve Gallagher said: "We're delighted by this news. This will be a valuable tool in our work."
A total of 82 anti-drugs projects across the country have received a share of the cash, announced formally by Tony Newton MP, chairman of the ministerial group on drug misuse.
