By NEIL BONNAR AS Gigg Lane gears up for its second big Lancashire derby day in four days, boss Stan Ternent declared: "This is what we've worked for."
Blackpool follow midweek visitors Burnley to Bury tomorrow with another big match atmosphere guaranteed.
And if Ternent has his way, the good times are going to get better in years to come.
"It will be another big match and big test for us tomorrow," said the manager who saw his side end a run of two draws and two defeats in the league with Tuesday night's thrilling 1-0 victory over Burnley to push them right back into the promotion picture.
"But that's the whole point of our getting promotion last season - that we get good games like this. And in time to come we hope to get promoted to the First Division when we will get even bigger games."
Ternent believes the players as well as the fans benefit from the club being in a higher level.
"It's what everyone works hard for. We have got to play better to stay in this division and then do better still to go up.
"Consequently, the players will improve and their value increase."
The Shakers, delighted with the gate receipts from Tuesday's 7,500 bumper crowd, can expect another big pay day with upwards of 6,000 anticipated tomorrow against another side hotly tipped for promotion.
With no fresh injury setbacks from the full-blooded Burnley contest, the big selection poser will come at centre half if Paul Butler or Ian Hughes pass late fitness tests.
Hughes has missed the last two games with an ankle injury while giant defender Butler came out of hospital yesterday where he had been on a drip to receive anti-biotic treatment for a gashed shin sustained in the defeat at Walsall last Saturday.
The duo have been regulars in the starting line-up prior to their injuries but the impressive form of Andy Woodward in the last two games means they are not guaranteed an instant return.
