MODEL rail enthusiasts will be steaming down to Bolton Moat House Hotel for the National Model Railroad Association's British Region national convention.
The NMRA is an American based association catering for modellers of American railroads worldwide.
The association was formed in 1935 and its British section in 1945.
There are now 18 regions with a total membership of 26,000 worldwide.
The Bolton event will be held on the weekend of October 18,19 and 20 and highlights include trips to Bury's East Lancs steam railway and Wigan Pier.
Model making contests will be held during the weekend and guest speaker at a dinner will be Richard Gibbon, director of railway engineering at the National Railway Museum, York.
