LEIGH RMI make the short journey to third placed Flixton tonight in the knowledge that a victory would put them on level points with two games in hand.

The Railwaymen are in seventh place and are unbeaten in 11 games but boss Steve Waywell reckons that this is the toughest game of the season so far.

"Its a difficult place to go to and just to add a bit of spice it is a return to their former club for Kevin Booth and Chris Bermingham," said Waywell.

"They have started the season well but we have to take something from places like Flixton if we want to be successful."

Leigh's problems are mounting with Peter Smyth, who damaged ligaments in Saturday's reserve game. He joins Mark Schofield, Graham Hill and Matty Weston on the injured list.

One piece of good news for Waywell is that Tony Edwards came through the reserve game unscathed and will take his place in midfield tonight.

Steve Walmesley will take over from Weston at right back with Mick Charlton, Booth and Paul Wheeler continuing in the centre of defence.

Squad: Felgate, Walmesley, Wallace, Wheeler, Charlton, Booth, Edwards, Ridings, Shaw, Evans, Bermingham, McKenna, Leishman, Fahey.
