THE globe-trotting chairman of Marketing Manchester has just completed a visit to Chicago.
Sir David Trippier was one of the leaders of a trade and cultural mission which was a joint venture by Manchester Airport and Marketing Manchester.
It introduced Marketing Manchester to Chicago, marked Manchester Airport's rating as "best airport in the world" by the International Air Transport Association and celebrated the 10th anniversary of American Airlines' successful Manchester-Chicago service.
During the trip airport chairman Cllr Graham Stringer and Sir David hosted a dinner for leading business and tourist experts at Chicago's Inter-Continental Hotel.
Sir David promised to spread the word for Manchester - and Bolton - when he gave the seventh annual Bolton Business Lecture earlier this year.
Chicago was his third overseas mission for Marketing Manchester in two months.
Marketing Manchester - a private and public sector partnership with a first year budget of £2.5m - is dedicated to promoting the whole of Greater Manchester, not just Manchester.
