SIR: Would your readers take my next swimming challenge?

You don't need to be an Olympic medallist to compete in this challenge, in fact it doesn't matter what age or ability you are, there is a challenge for you.

Any swimmer can take part in this fun event. All you need to do is go along to your local swimming pool, and complete any one of the following swim challenges: 50 seconds, 50 minutes, 50 hours, 50 breadths, 50 lengths and for the accomplished swimmer, a challenge of swimming 50 kilometres.

I am urging everyone, that we together, raise more than £100,000 for the Cancer Research Campaign (Regd Charity No 225838) with my Gold 50 Swim Challenges.

This year the Cancer Research Campaign - which receives no Government funding - expects to spend at least £45 million on research across Britain.

As well as supporting vital research into cancer, people who take up my Challenge will get a Certificate of Merit and, depending on sponsorship, badges, T-shirts and swim bags.

For more information and entry forms contact the Swim for Life ActionLine on 01382 451146 or contact your local pool.
