ATHERTON LR's four-game winning sequence in the UniBond First Division came to the stuttering end last night in a 1-0 home defeat by Great Harwood Town.
The visitors to Crilly Park scored after only 13 minutes through Phil Brown following slack LR defensive work at a corner and try as they might Rovers just could not find the vital last touch to round off some dominant out-field play.
Twice the woodwork took a rattling in a second half which saw LR well on top.
ATHERTON COLLS take a one-goal lead into the away second leg of the NWCL floodlit cup after coming out on top over Chadderton in a scrappy game at Alder House.
Former Daisy Hill and Chorley striker Danny Mills got his first goal since signing for the club three weeks ago with just ten minutes remaining when he pounced on a defensive mistake.
