A ROVING exhibition unit is promoting European Safety Week throughout Bolton this week.

The unit, which is manned by Bolton Council's Environmental Health Officers, is stressing the message: "Good Health is Good Business."

It is estimated that every year work makes two million people ill or causes an illness to become worse.

Cllr Peter Finch, Chairman of the Environment and Consumer Sub-Committee, said: "It is important for employers, employees and doctors to make the connection between ill-health and work."

He added: "Action now could prevent a lot of suffering in the future."

The 10am to 4pm exhibition has already been at Asda in Farnworth, J. Sainsbury in Bolton and Tesco in Horwich.

Today (Thursday) it is at Safeway in Harwood and tomorrow the week ends at Asda in Astley Bridge.
