BOLTON RUFC first team really got into top gear with an overpowering performance against visitors Colne and Nelson at Avenue Street in the Courage League.
The 10-try demolition job was a good team effort. The backs with Pete Marriott (three), Chris Hughes (two) and Steve Mullineaux capitalised on the good forward play in the loose with Pete Davies, Dave Wilson, Gary Hodgkinson and Paul Hunt completing the try rout.
Captain Nick Holmes scored a superb nine out of 10 conversions along with a couple of penalties.
Bolton seconds, away at Colne and Nelson seconds, only managed a 13-13 draw. Stuart Hughes scored Bolton's only try while Mike Ince put over two penalties.
Bolton thirds took the inexperienced Colne and Nelson thirds apart with a 79-0 win.
The 13-try romp was headed by Alex Sugden (four), Keiron Hunter (three), Marcus Rigby (two), John Reveley and Greg Nichol. Guy Topping converted six and Duncan Trench one in a fluent Bolton performance.
Bolton fourths travelled to Winsford where, despite giving a good account of themselves, they provided the new club its first ever victory with a resounding 42-0 scoreline.
Winsford never found Bolton a pushover with Stuart Rodgers and Terry Knapman the pick.
Bolton Vets' match was preceded by nearly 50 old players having a pre-match lunch.
The Vets put on a gutsy performance against Preston Grasshoppers Strollers in a 5-5 draw. Hoppers who have not lost in the last two seasons were classy with the ball but Bolton tackled and fought hard.
Toby Sasse got the try with Baldwin Small and Steve Rushmore impressive along with Shaun Mitchinson and Geoff Vickers.
