RARE archive film of Bolton and the surrounding area from years gone by will be screened at Bolton Library on Monday, October 14, 7pm.
The show has been organised as part of a celebration of 100 years of cinema by the North West Film Archive. It will include the 1912 film The Bolton Election Result, film of the 1913 Royal Visit to Bolton, textile footage from Barlow and Jones Ltd and a 1929 film of Bolton Infirmary.
Other gems from the collection include a Whit walk, a tea dance from the late 1920s and holidaymakers in Blackpool during the 1950s.
The screening has been sponsored by the UCI/CIC Charitable Trust, the Foundation for Sport and the Arts, the Granada Foundation and North West Arts Board. Admission is free.
Converted for the new archive on 14 July 2000. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
