YOUNG Bolton man is taking hospital chiefs to court claiming doctors removed a testicle when they did not need to.

Surgeons operated on devastated Paul Miller, 27, of Darcy Lever fearing he was suffering from testicular cancer after he found a lump.

But after the operation Mr Miller was told he did not have cancer.

Mr Miller claims doctors should have established that he did not have the disease before they removed his testicle in an operation at Bolton Royal Infirmary just before Christmas in 1994.

Now he is to sue for alleged medical negligence.

His lawyers will argue in court that his testicle could have been saved if the surgeon had taken action in the operating theatre.

The hospital is fighting the case but officials have refused to comment on the allegations.
