SIR: After recent publicity from G M Buses with regard to services to Bolton General Hospital, I was most disappointed to discover that only two weeks after the new hospital development was completed some routes have been discontinued. Why give this publicity and then withdraw the service just as people are beginning to use them?
Surely two weeks are not long enough to establish the service with the new extra users transferred from the Bolton Royal Infirmary.
After discussion with G M Buses, I find that there are no replacement services for the numbers 30 and 31 and no other service goes directly into the hospital grounds via Glynn Street and Plodder Lane, Farnworth.
When asking for an explanation into why it has been withdrawn, I am told it is due to people now returning to Manchester after the bomb. What I ask you, has this got to do with a route into Bolton General Hospital.
