SIR: I have recently seen two superb drama productions: Dancing at Lughnasa (Octagon Theatre); Blood Brothers (Bolton Little Theatre).
I have been to the Octagon regularly for the last three years and to Bolton Little Theatre for 12 months.
Both companies work hard to provide varied and stimulating entertainment.
So, give the telly a miss, give yourself a treat and support your local theatre.
May I make a mention of the special performances for the hearing impaired and the visually impaired at the Octagon. Both theatres have a loop system for the deaf, which I use. The loop system at Bolton Little Theatre is currently under repair.
However both theatres are small and you have close contact with the actors, particularly when each theatre uses their second smaller stage. Both do all they can to make your visit enjoyable. I was even treated to a piece of chocolate cake made by a member of the cast of 'Blood Brothers'.
Food for the body, as well as the mind!
