SIR: I have read with interest the various letters appearing in the Bolton Evening News about the name of the Wanderers' new stadium. Basically there appear to be two schools of thought. One is to name the stadium after the Wanderers greatest servant, Nat Lofthouse. The other is to go after the cash and have it named after a big name sponsor who would help with the building costs, provide money for new players etc.
The answer is therefore blindingly obvious. All we need do is arrange for that Fleetwood company which makes Fisherman's Friends to pump money into the club. We could then call it the Lofthouse Stadium and everyone would be happy.
