WILLOWS have started their Division One campaign in fine style and retained their 100 per cent record when two goals by Phil Ryan helped them to a 2-0 win over Northfield.
Astley Bride dropped their first points of the season when they were held to a 3-3 draw by Robin Hood despite a fine hat-trick by Steele. Gresham travelled to R S Walkden and came away with all three points after a 5-3 triumph.
Bates and Cover got the goals for Derby Street Glass who beat Hare and Hounds (Bolton) 2-1. Wiggin got the Hounds consolation. Westleigh Mechanics beat Cattle Market 2-0 with their goals coming from Frain and Arnold.
In the Premier Division, Feathers lost their 100 per cent record but remain unbeaten after a goalless draw with Tonge Fold. Deane and Derby are now the only Premier side with a 100 per cent record after their 4-1 win at Cotton Tree. Nashjha scored a splendid hat-trick. Little Lever are beginning to look menacing and moved into third place after a fine 2-1 win over Fuller Vale. Grech got the Vale goal but efforts from Ray Emburey and Rone Dixon won the day for Little Lever. Manchester Road Inn won for the first time beating struggling Lostock Arms 3-0. Red Lion (Lowton) have started well and remain unbeaten after a 1-1 draw with Bolton Castle.
In Division Two, Bradford Arms won their third game in a row, beating Farnworth and Kearsley Labour Club 4-2. Williams was on target for Moses Gate but couldn't prevent his side going down 2-1 to Market Street Tavern.
John Charlton got the goal for Hare and Hounds (Stoneclough) who drew 1-1 with Little Hulton Cricket Club. Neil Blower and karl O'Brien scored the goals for in form White Horse (Kearsley) who beat Seven Stars 2-1. Dean Holt got the goal for the Stars. M and AB Pineapple are going well and comfortably beat Clifton Rangers 4-1 thanks to goals from Robert Rostron, Craig Roston, Mick Lawrie and Stuart McNair. Twist got the goal for Rangers.
In Division four, Arkwrights Main Connections continue to set the pace after an emphatic 9-0 triumph over British Queen Athletic. Goal machine Gary Walton banged in four, Darren McGaughey got a hat-trick and there were goals also for Gary and Lee Bradshaw.
There was an extraordinary game at Harper Green where Whitefield scored seven at home to Coach and Horses but still lost having conceded eight!
