THE funeral of tragic divorcee Shirley Brown was held today, four months after she was murdered.
Mrs Brown, aged 46, of Allerby Way, Lowton, was discovered strangled when her 10-year-old son returned home.
The service took place, before burial, at St John's Church in Newton-le-Willows, at 11am.
Among those attending will be members of Mrs Brown's family and the man leading the investigation into her death Det Supt John Waterworth.
