LEISURE Services councillors have submitted a bid for Government cash through the Capital Challenge scheme.
Projects in Farnworth, Great Lever, Deane and Burnden are set to benefit and a decision on the bid is expected by the end of this year.
Shortlisted leisure services projects are:
Creation of a community park at Harper Green complementing existing school playing fields and nearby open space. Significant landscape refurbishment of Doe Hey Park, combining sports facilities with other passive and active recreation opportunities.
Maximising sporting and recreation provision at Hulton Lane playing fields.
The upgrading and development of Farnworth Central Park.
Significant landscape refurbishment of Sunnyside Park in Daubhill.
The provision of multi-use synthetic surfaces within the bid area with a focus on basketball.
