TWO men armed with hammers terrorised staff at the GX Superbowl at Wardley before making off with about £3,000 last night.
The men entered the bowling alley at about 11.30pm and forced three or four members of staff into the cash office where the safe was opened.
During the incident two members of staff were slightly injured by the attackers. They were taken to hospital as a precaution but released after treatment.
The bowling alley had been closed to customers at the time of the attack but the front doors were still unlocked.
Staff were inside clearing up before closing. The first man is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall with a red jacket and wearing a dark coloured balaclava and dark jeans.
He had a local accent.
The second is white, 5ft 7ins tall, with a slim build, wearing a green top but the rest of his clothing and the balaclava he was wearing were dark coloured.
