LEIGH RMI have the chance tomorrow to erase the only black mark on their otherwise successful start to the season.

It was back on the opening day of the new term when Droylsden visited Hilton Park and, after trailing to a Chris Shaw goal, they took the points in a 3-1 win.

Now, 14 undefeated games later, RMI visit Droylsden in the FA UMBRO Trophy in an attempt to put the record straight.

They will have central defender Mark Schofield back after his long lay-off. He tore a calf muscle in the FA Cup replay at Billingham and will be looking to get a couple of games under his belt before the Railwaymen entertain Runcorn in next Saturday's FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

He will face a stern test tomorrow with Droylsden striker Billy O'Callaghan bang in form. He opened his account for this term with two of the goals that sunk the Railwaymen back in August.

One player who won't be facing Droylsden though is Graham Leishman, who has been transfer-listed by mutual consent.

The replay date with Radcliffe Boro in the Challenge Cup can't be arranged until the outcome of tomorrow's Trophy is resolved, but Monday's league fixture at Ashton United appears to be in doubt.

RADCLIFFE BOROUGH's exemption until the third round of the FA Trophy means they are in Unibond Division One action with a tough visit to newly promoted Flixton.

Manager Kevin Glendon has just one injury worry after Mike Farrelly limped out of the goalless draw at Leigh RMI in mid-week.

Former RMI midfielder Jon Senior came on as sub and showed his knee problems are behind him. Skipper Levi Edwards returns after recovering from the Manchester Marathon for the match against a side lying fifth in the table.

Glendon has allowed Tony Camilleri to return to Hyde United on a loan deal while striker Chris Gardner has gone for a spell at bottom club Warrington.

ATHERTON LR midfielder Mattie Brooks plays a last game before a three match suspension in the home first round FA UMBRO Trophy tie with Midlands side Moor Green.

The player was red-carded in last weekend's home 1-1 draw with Bamber Bridge in the FA Cup and went down 2-0 in the replay.

Dave Morris's main worry is to find a finisher who can put away the many chances the side are creating.

Midfielder Tony Pemberton returns after being cup-tied but also suffering from a knee injury, while Paul Griffin faces a late test on his back.

ATHERTON COLLS go into the NWC League Challenge Cup first round tie at Chadderton with goalkeeper Ian Senior playing his final game before Keith Schofield returns from honeymoon.

The visit to the Oldham side is one of two in the next four days as the second leg of the Floodlit Cup will be held on Tuesday with Colls 1-0 ahead.

DAISY Hill face a real tough test in the Challenge Cup with first division Newcastle the visitors. The Potteries side are unbeaten in the league and in midweek overcame Unibond Division One side Frickley to reach the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

Manager Jimmy Hulton expects striker Roy Litherland to have recovered from a groin injury and although Jason Jones and Phil Donlan are fit, striker Darren Calderbank has joined Bamber Bridge. AFTER all the excitment of the Lancashire ADIDAS Amateur Shield first round last week it's back to a full league programme for the Bolton Combination tomorrow.

Premier Division title hopefuls will be looking to Bolton Lads Club to upset runaway leaders Seedfield Sports Club who currently bask in a maximum return from six games played.

Second in the table Walkers face a relatively comfortable-looking trip to a struggling Summerseat outfit.

British Aerospace in third spot, clash with fourth placed Atherton C&N while Blackrod are looking to end their barren spell at Kersal Lads Club.

Tomorrow's match of the day is in the first division where unbeaten leaders Kersal Vale entertabn second placed Little Lever.

Close rivals Mitchell Shackleton travel to a surprisingly disappoiniting Atherton C&N team.

Two more unbeaten sides languish behind the leaders because they have played fewer games. Turton should have little difficulty at home to Monton Ams who are yet to register a point in six games, while Hindley Green Reserves should keep their record intact at home to Tottington United.

With second division leaders Atherton S&S without a game rivals Walkden AFC Reserves could make up ground at Howe Bridge Mills Reserves.
